Savaria Wheelchair Platform Lifts & Stair Lifts in Los Angeles
Savaria manufactures one of the broadest accessibility product portfolios in North America. This page focuses on its current vertical platform wheelchair lifts and straight and curved stair lifts for residential, commercial, indoor and outdoor applications.
Savaria calls the Multilift its workhorse wheelchair lift. It is frequently used as a porch or deck lift and is suitable for residential indoor/outdoor use and permitted commercial applications.
750 lb standard capacity
ACME screw drive with back-up nut
48" standard travel; optional travel up to 72"
8 ft/min nominal speed
Non-skid platform with continuous-pressure controls
Factory-built enclosure available
Standard platform lengths: 48", 54" and 60"
Outdoor Porch & Deck Access
The Multilift is often chosen where a ramp would take too much horizontal space. The drive tower contains the motor, eliminating the need for a separate machine room in the typical deck-lift configuration.
Savaria describes the V-1504 as its most popular wheelchair lift. The hydraulic drive is contained in the attached tower, so the standard V-1504 does not require a separate machine room.

Travel & Stops
For shorter open-platform installations, the V-1504 can serve common porch and deck elevations. In an appropriate hoistway configuration, Savaria documents multi-stop travel subject to applicable local codes and jurisdictional limits.
The V-1504 Enclosure adds a factory-built enclosure for weather protection and commercial accessibility applications. Savaria offers numerous finishes, door styles, glass or acrylic panels and entry configurations.

Up to 42" x 60" custom platform sizes

Outdoor & Commercial Flexibility
Enclosures are particularly useful for outdoor commercial installations where shielding the platform and passenger from weather is desirable.
The Lux dresses the V-1504 platform-lift system in stainless steel framing with glass inserts. Savaria lists it for residential or commercial, indoor or outdoor applications.
Premium Appearance
It combines the V-1504 hydraulic system with an architectural enclosure intended for projects where accessibility equipment must visually integrate with a higher-end building design.
The Prestige uses 1/2-inch structural tempered glass for a high-end frameless appearance. The standard version is designed for indoor two-stop applications with up to about 6 feet of travel.
Framed Prestige Option
Savaria also documents a framed Prestige version capable of greater travel and additional stops, subject to local code and project design.
The Prolift is a fully enclosed cab-style vertical platform lift installed in a constructed hoistway. It feels more like a small elevator but retains continuous-pressure wheelchair-lift operation.

Up to 4 stops
Standard SCL capacities of 750, 1000 or optional 1050 lb
Heavy-duty configurations up to 1400 lb where code permits

Cab & Hoistway Design
Prolift offers numerous cab dimensions, wall finishes, door arrangements and entry configurations, making it suitable for public buildings, places of worship and homes requiring an enclosed multi-level platform lift.
The K2 is Savaria's best-selling straight stairlift. It uses rack-and-pinion drive, battery power and a slim fold-up profile of about 10 3/4 inches from the wall with the standard seat.
Capacity & Installation
Savaria lists a 300 lb standard capacity and an optional 350 lb configuration. It can be installed on either side of a straight staircase and can be equipped for outdoor use in milder climates.
The K2 Plus is the higher-capacity version of Savaria's K2. For home use, Savaria lists up to a 400 lb capacity with the Plus seat. It is also offered for commercial/public use at 350 lb where permitted.
The Handicare 1000 is a straight rack-and-pinion stairlift intended for higher-capacity users and outdoor installations. Savaria's comparison chart lists a 350 lb standard capacity and a 440 lb optional capacity, with optional powered seat swivel and powered folding footrest.
The Handicare 1100 uses a distinctive friction/4-motor drive without a visible gear rack for a clean rail appearance. Savaria lists a 310 lb capacity and an optional Slide Track that moves the rail as the chair travels to help keep doorways and landings clear.
The Stairfriend 23 is a custom-fabricated twin-rail curved stairlift for turns, intermediate landings and custom parking bends.
Capacity & Travel
Savaria lists 300 lb standard and 350 lb optional capacities, battery operation, rack-and-pinion drive and custom rail fabrication using its PS4D photo-measuring system.
The Handicare 4000 is a custom twin-rail curved stairlift with a 300 lb standard capacity and 350 lb optional capacity. It can be ordered with powered swivel, powered folding footrest, powered hinged rail, multiple seat choices, Perch seat options and an outdoor package for moderate climates.
The Freecurve is Savaria's single-tube curved stairlift. It has a 275 lb standard capacity and offers multiple seat designs, power swivel and footrest features, a powered hinged rail and an optional Active Seat designed to assist with sitting and standing.
Straight stairlifts are normally faster and simpler to install. Curved stairlifts are custom built to match bends, landings and turns and can include parking extensions that move the chair away from the main landing area.
Features to compare include seat width, lift capacity, folded depth, manual or powered swivel, powered footrest, hinged rail, outdoor package and rail style.
Savaria's current curved models use custom measurement and fabrication so the finished rail follows the staircase accurately while preserving as much usable stair width as possible.
For Inland Empire properties, available options range from compact straight stairlifts through custom curved lifts and 750 lb-class vertical platform lifts. Site measurements and local code requirements determine the correct configuration.
Electropedic also serves Arizona customers seeking mobility and accessibility equipment. Always verify product availability and installation requirements in the specific jurisdiction.
Start with the site: measure the vertical rise, available footprint, landing clearances and entry/exit direction. Then determine required platform size and capacity, indoor/outdoor exposure, whether an enclosure or hoistway is needed, and applicable permit/code requirements.
