In 1964, Henry Kraus, the founder of Electropedic Beds, attended the World's Fair in New York City where he encountered an electric adjustable bed. Recognizing the potential for comfort and therapeutic benefits, Kraus returned to California and established Electropedic Beds in the same year. This marked the beginning of his venture into manufacturing and selling these innovative adjustable beds, a business that remains family-owned and operated today.
In 1987, while on a European business trip, Henry Kraus, the founder of Electropedic Beds, stayed at a small boutique hotel in Switzerland. It was there that he experienced a latex mattress for the first time and was struck by its exceptional comfort, especially noting that he woke up without his usual back pain. Impressed by this discovery, Kraus investigated further, learned about the properties of latex, and recognized the potential to enhance the comfort and support offered by his adjustable beds. This pivotal experience led him to introduce latex mattresses to his product line, eventually establishing the Latexpedic brand as a division of Electropedic Beds.

To measure the right size for a lift chair recliner, you need to consider four key dimensions: seat height from the floor, seat width, seat depth, and seat back height. Seat height should match the distance from the floor to the back of your knee, ensuring your feet rest comfortably on the ground.. Seat width is determined by measuring the widest part of your hips while seated and adding a couple of inches for comfort. Seat depth should match the distance from the back of your knee to your lower back to provide proper support. Lift chairs come in various sizes, including Petite (under 5'3"), Small (under 5'3" with an average build), Medium (5'4" to 6'), Large (5'9" to 6'1"), Extra Large (over 6'1"), and Wide (for those needing a broader seat). Choosing the right size ensures maximum comfort and support.
