Harmar Wheelchair Platform Lifts & Stair Lifts in Los Angeles
Harmar manufactures home-access products for people who want safer movement between levels while remaining in a wheelchair or scooter, or while seated on a stairlift. Its current home-access lineup includes Highlander II and VPL400-X vertical platform lifts, several Pinnacle and Summit straight stairlifts, and Helix, UP and Otolift Modul-Air Smart curved stairlifts.
Harmar's Highlander II is its higher-rise VPL system for residential and commercial applications. It lets the rider remain in a wheelchair, power chair or scooter while traveling vertically between levels.
750 lb lifting capacity
Available for travel up to 14 feet
Approximately 10.4 feet-per-minute listed speed
ACME screw drive with fully sealed DC gear motor
Residential and commercial configurations
Indoor and outdoor applications
Multiple platform sizes
Guardian System & Backup Power
The Highlander II uses Harmar's Guardian System, which provides continual operating feedback through four LED indicators. The optional ReadyUPS battery-backup system is designed to provide at least five complete up-and-down cycles during an outage.
Typical applications: porches, decks, garage entries, elevated entrances, second-story access and other locations where a ramp would require too much horizontal space.
The VPL400-X is Harmar's compact residential platform-lift choice for lower-rise access. It carries the rider and mobility device together and is designed for straightforward access to porches, decks and garage entries.
750 lb lifting capacity
Maximum lifting height: up to 53 inches
Five platform-size choices
36" or 42" platform gates available
Residential applications
Designed for simple, sturdy operation
When to Choose the VPL400-X
If the required rise is under about 53 inches and the project is residential, the VPL400-X can be a simpler alternative to a much longer wheelchair ramp. For greater height, the Highlander II is the natural Harmar comparison.
The SL300 is Harmar's compact Pinnacle straight stairlift. Its lubrication-free nylon polymer gear rack and helical worm gear are designed for a clean, smooth ride without grease on the rail.
300 lb capacity
20 FPM speed
11" folded width from wall
27°–52° staircase inclines
Standard 15'6" track; up to 36'
Up to approximately 60 trips during a power outage
Optional power seat swivel and power footrest
Compact for Narrow Stairs
Harmar highlights the SL300's narrow installation profile, with the rail mounting close to the wall and the seat and footrest folding when not in use.
The SL600 is Harmar's premium straight stairlift with a larger upholstered chair, full-size backrest and additional chassis safety sensors.
350 lb capacity
20 FPM speed
10.5" folded width from wall
15'6" to 70' track lengths
27°–52° incline range
Lubrication-free polymer gear rack
Up to approximately 60 trips during power loss
Premium Safety & Convenience
Standard safety features include a retractable seat belt, overspeed brake, swivel-seat interlock, footrest obstruction sensor, chassis obstruction sensors and armrest condition indicators.
The SL600HD is Harmar's heavy-duty straight stairlift, designed for riders who need substantially more capacity and a wider, reinforced seating system.
Industry-leading 600 lb capacity
High-back extra-wide chair
Reinforced footrest
85-degree swivel seat at the upper landing
Up to 40' of travel
Battery operation during a power outage
Heavy-Duty Comfort
Its wide seat, reinforced components and stationary armrests are intended to provide greater stability during both travel and transfer.
The SL350AC is an AC-powered straight stairlift using an extruded aluminum track and cable-drive system. It operates from standard 115V household current and mounts to the stair treads rather than the wall. Harmar lists a 350 lb capacity through 15'9" of track, reduced to 250 lb for longer track up to 25'.
The SL350OD is Harmar's outdoor Summit straight stairlift. Marine-grade vinyl seating, chassis/header protection and an included weatherproof cover are designed for exterior exposure. Harmar lists an operating temperature range from approximately 0°F to 125°F, with a 350 lb capacity on shorter installations.
The Helix is Harmar's custom-fabricated curved stairlift. Its True-Curve rail is built for the specific staircase and can handle landings, bends, spirals and tight 180-degree turns.
350 lb capacity
19" x 15" seat
20 FPM speed
Up to 58° incline
Steel rack-and-pinion drive
Custom rail lengths available well beyond standard configurations
Optional outdoor package
Custom Rail Appearance
Helix is designed for buyers who want a curved stairlift made specifically for the staircase. Harmar offers black or beige rail, chassis and upholstery choices.
The UP Stairlift uses a modular rail system rather than waiting for a fully custom welded rail. Harmar describes it as a rapid-install curved solution that can sometimes be configured as soon as the dealer visit. It supports up to 275 lb and includes Wi-Fi diagnostics, a joystick call/send remote, automatic folding footrest and power swivel features.
The Otolift Modul-Air Smart is another current Harmar curved stairlift offering. It uses an ultra-thin modular rail for faster turnaround than many traditionally fabricated curved systems. Harmar lists a 275 lb capacity, standard powered footrest, an armrest smart dashboard and an ergonomic joystick.
Straight staircase: compare SL300, SL600, SL600HD, SL350AC and outdoor SL350OD. Curved, spiral or landing staircase: compare Helix, UP and Otolift Modul-Air Smart. Stair width, incline, rider weight, seat dimensions, folded width, rail length and outdoor exposure should be measured before choosing a model.
Under approximately 53 inches of rise: compare VPL400-X. For greater height—up to 14 feet—and commercial possibilities: compare Highlander II. Vertical platform lifts allow a person to remain in a wheelchair, scooter or power chair while moving between elevations. Stairlifts are designed for seated travel on the staircase itself and normally require the user to transfer into the stairlift chair. The best solution depends on mobility ability, the property and the desired accessible route.
